I love using text as part of my collage process. It also gets me thinking about all the ways we communicate with each other .. not just with our words but with gestures, attention, empathy, gifts, symbols, and so much more. … here, I started collaging with a box of old letters from my mother and spent a lot of time reminiscing on how much love and support and kindness she was able to express without words. The forms, marks and colors have covered much of the text, but the letters and their meaning still survive in the history of the painting.
